Tree planting
Choosing which fruit tree to plant can feel complicated. There are a huge number of varieties available and anyone looking to plant a tree needs to be mindful of the rootstock, the need for pollinating partners and the growing conditions of the tree’s new home. I can simplify the process for you by visiting your garden or orchard site and suggesting varieties that will suit your space. I source plants from well regarded local nurseries who grow their plants here in the UK and I plant trees bareroot in the winter so that they get the best possible establishment and ultimately out perform pot grown trees.
I particularly enjoy working with clients to devise ways of growing fruit trees in small spaces and can plant and care for ‘restricted’ fruit trees such as Espalier, fan, stepover and cordon trained trees.Past projects I’ve delivered have included large orchards, nutteries, food forest gardens and single backgarden fruit trees.
